Underwater Videography & Production
An award-winning film-maker and videographer, Dan Crowell is one of the most uniquely suited underwater cameraman and producers available today. For just about any marine or underwater environment, his background and experience give him the edge needed to get you the shot you're looking for. Dan developed his skills in the trenches of diving: from basic scuba to commercial hard-hat diving to pioneering deep technical mixed-gas diving in the Northeast US, there is not much diving technology or equipment that he is not familiar with.
Dan is a well-known and respected figure in the world of diving. His diving career has been highlighted in a number of books and publications. As a technical dive instructor, his experience in training and coordinating personnel ensure that a production runs smoothly and safely. In addition to his dive and videography skills, he also holds a U.S. Coast Guard Master's license, and has operated charter, tug and crew boats for many years. It is this experience, expertise and understanding of the marine environment that make him perfect for shooting or directing your next project on, in, or around any marine environment.
"Anyone with a good eye and a camera rig can shoot great underwater video in optimum conditions. But put them in cold, murky, limited visibility, deep water, or strong current and see what you get! It's a tough place just to be at, let alone shoot video. There are very few conditions underwater that I haven't experienced and I still brought back usable footage on tape. Don't get me wrong - I'd much rather be in nice calm 85 degree water with 100 feet plus visibility and no current. That would make life so easy. But, if there's no challenge, then most likely someone else has already gotten the shot!"

Seeker Digital Productions specializes in getting that underwater shot for you. We are fully capable of directing and producing the underwater scenes alone, or producing an entire project for industrial or broadcast use. In cases where it may not be in your budget to have both topside and underwater camera crews, we can do both, saving you thousands in transportation and shipping costs.
Even though production costs have dropped dramatically in the past few years, so have the payouts for much of broadcast TV productions. With this in mind, Seeker Digital Productions uses and charges for only the equipment necessary for your production, reducing your costs for both the shoot and post-production.
Professional Diver Services & Training
In
addition to underwater videography, Seeker Digital Productions also
offers the following services: lighting, dive tender, and support diver for
video-related activities. We also offer diving services that vary greatly
and sometimes go well outside the normal realm of videography. Diving for
scientific research, equipment inspection, and underwater maintenance are
all within our capabilities, as well as any other tasks that require an
experienced diver. Diver services are available both on a regular basis, and
also to those who only require a occasional service.
Seeker
Digital Productions also offers dive training. From basic scuba to the
high-tech world of mixed-gases and rebreathers, a full range of scuba
training is available.
Instruction is also available for underwater videography. We train divers in the proper equipment and methods for underwater video, and also instruct terrestrial videographers in the proper configurations and techniques for underwater filming.

In The Works
Dan Crowell is the Director of Photography for Seeker Digital Productions (SDP) and Director of Underwater Photography for KPI, together they are working on developing new underwater content and programming for cable and network TV.
Outdoor Channel 2 HD
Created by ex-Navy diver and award-winning HDTV/ Digital Film Producer Robin Berg, Speargun Hunter documents the expeditions of world-record-setting, freediving spearfishermen Sherri Daye as she travels the world to seek out the best hunters and sites that will bring big game to the small screen. Moving from breath hold to SCUBA diving techniques to shoot this fast pasted show Berg has employed the expertise of veteran diver and underwater DP Dan Crowell to take the rains as the dive supervisor and cameraman.
